QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Effie F. Anastassiou received her A.B. in Russian language and history, summa cum laude, from the University of Southern California in 1977, and her J.D. from Columbia University in 1980, where she was an editor of the Columbia Law Review. She formerly worked as a law clerk for Judge Almeric L. Christian, U.S. District Court, District of the Virgin Islands (1980-1982); as an associate attorney in the Corporations Department of O'Melveny & Myers in Los Angeles, California (1982-1986); and as in-house counsel for Dole Food Company, Inc., with positions as Associate General Counsel for the corporate office (Los Angeles, California), and Vice President and General Counsel for two divisions: Dole Fresh Vegetables Company (Salinas, California) and Dole Dried Fruit and Nut Company (Fresno and Bakersfield, California) (1986-1992).

Ms. Anastassiou began her own law office in 1992 in Salinas, California where she has continued to represent clients located in multiple regions in California and involved in the production and/or marketing of numerous agricultural products including clients from other states and countries that do business in California. Ms. Anastassiou added a branch office in Pismo Beach, California in 2003, and another branch office in Oxnard in 2019.
